In order to qualify for this limited warranty, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:

1. Proper Installation of Required Products: You must properly install The Roof Store Architectural Shingles, The Roof Store Hip and Ridge Shingles, The Roof Store Starter, The Roof Store Synthetic Underlayment, The Roof Store Ice and Water Self Healing Membrane, The Roof Store 1 1/4 inch Nails (Coil Smooth, Coil Ring Shank, or Hand Drive).
2. Documentation: You must retain proof of purchase which shows the date The Roof Store Architectural Shingles (and other roof components) were purchased and installed. You must also upload images verifying the proper installation of The Roof Store Roofing System Components.
3. You must be the original owner of the property and therefore original owner of the roof installed in accordance with the details of this warranty. The warranty is transferrable once during the original 10 years of purchasing The Roof Store Roof System and the warranty must be purchased after the purchase of the roofing components but before the roof installation. The warranty must be properly registered within 15 days of installation. When the original owner of the property sells and the warranty is transferred to the next owner, the pro-rated portion of the warranty is no longer valid and this warranty shall be reduced to a two year period after the ownership changes (unless the transfer occurs after year 8 of original ownership). If there is a defect during the two year term period of second owner's ownership, The Roof Store's reimbursement to the second owner will be based only on the reasonable cost of replacement shingles or applicable accessories, reduced by the amount of use that has been received from the shingles or applicable accessories from the date of installation through the date of the claim.

Manufacturing Defects: What is Covered / Sole and Exclusive Remedy

The Roof Store warrants that your The Roof Store Architectural Shingles will remain free from manufacturing defects that adversely affect their performance during the applicable period or that cause leaks for the remainder of the applicable pro rated warranty term and that your The Roof Store accessory products will remain free from manufacturing defects that adversely affect their performance during the applicable warranty term. Wind Warranty and Algae Warranty are not part of this warranty.

During the first 10 year period: The Roof Store will pay the reasonable cost of labor to repair or re-cover any defective The Roof Store Products (excluding non-The Roof Store accessories, metalwork, or flashing) and will provide replacement of The Roof Store products or the reasonable cost of obtaining replacement The Roof Store products, at The Roof Store's option. The Roof Store will not pay to tear off your The Roof Store products, or to dispose of them.

During the Pro-Rated Period: Labor will no longer be covered. The Roof Store's contribution to the owner will be based on either providing the owner with replacement of The Roof Store products, or, at The Roof Store's choice, reimbursing for the reasonable cost of replacement of The Roof Store products. The amount of replacement of The Roof Store products or reimbursement provided to the owner will be reduced to reflect the use received from your The Roof Store products. The amount of use will be calculated by dividing the number of months which have elapsed since the installation to the date of claim by the number of months in the warranty term.

Length of Warranty: The Roof Store Roof System Limited Warranty is for 10 years and Pro-Rated for the next 10 years (for the original owner of the property owner).

All self-sealing shingles and ridge cap shingles, including The Roof Store Shingles, must be exposed to warm, sunny conditions for several days before the roof shingles completely seal. Before sealing occurs, shingles and hip and ridge shingles are vulnerable to blow-offs and wind damage. Shingles and Hip and Ridge Shingles installed during fall, winter, or early spring may not seal until the following spring. Shingles or Hip and Ridge Shingles that are not exposed to direct sunlight or adequate surface temperatures or that are not fastened or installed properly may never seal. Failures to seal, blow-offs, and wind damage under these circumstances result from the nature of self-sealing shingles and Hip and Ridge Shingles, not a manufacturing defect, and are not covered under this limited warranty.

Claims: What Owner Must Do

Owner must notify The Roof Store about any claim within 15 days after you notice a problem. You may report a claim by emailing: info@theroof.store

You will then be provided with complete details about submitting your claim. You will be required to provide proof of the date The Roof Store roof system was installed and that you are the owner of the property at that time. You may be required to send The Roof Store, at your expense, photographs and sample products for testing. Within a reasonable time after proper notification, The Roof Store will evaluate your claim and resolve it in accordance with the terms of this limited warranty. If you repair or replace The Roof Store products before you notify The Roof Store about your claim or before The Roof Store has completed its evaluation of your claim, your claim may be denied. If you repair or replace The Roof Store products before your claim is resolved, you void the limited warranty because it is not possible for The Roof Store to reasonably evaluate your claim.

Sole and Exclusive Warranty

This limited warranty is exclusive and replaces all other warranties, whether expressed or implied, whether by statute, at law, or in equity, including the implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. This limited warranty is the owner's exclusive warranty from The Roof Store and represents the sole remedy available to any owner of The Roof Store Shingles or accessories. The Roof Store makes no other representations, conditions, guarantees, or warranties of any kind other than that stated herein. The Roof Store will not be liable in any event consequential, punitive, special, incidental, or other similar damages of any kind, including damage to the interior or exterior of any building, whether any claim against it is based upon breach of this warranty, negligence, strict liability in tort, or for any other cause. This limited warranty gives the owner of this warranty specific legal rights, and may also have other rights which vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on or the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions should be considered before purchasing this limited warranty. Do not purchase this limited warranty if your jurisdiction does not allow the above exclusions or limitations. The United Nations Conventions on the International Sale of Goods shall not apply either to the sale of The Roof Store products or this limited warranty.

Modification of The Roof Store Limited Warranty

This limited warranty may not be changed or modified except by an officer of The Roof Store. No one (other than an officer of The Roof Store) has the authority to assume any additional or other liability or responsibility for The Roof Store in connection with The Roof Store products except as described in this limited warranty. Warranty subject to change.

Effective Date

This limited warranty is effective for The Roof Store products after this warranty has been purchased (as long as the roof has been installed properly and warranty has been properly registered with images of properly installed products uploaded to the registration of this warranty).

This warranty does not apply to:

1. Damage resulting from anything other than an inherent manufacturing defect in The Roof Store products, such as: a) improper fastening of your shingles or accessories or application not in strict accordance with The Roof Store's printed application instructions, if the improper installation was the cause of the damage. b) settlement, movement, structural damage, or defects in the building, walls, foundation, or the roof base over which The Roof Store products were applied. c) inadequate ventilation.
2. Damage resulting from causes beyond normal wear and tear, such as: a) acts of nature, such as hail, fire, winds (including gusts). b) impact of traffic on the roof or foreign objects, including damage caused by objects blown onto the roof by wind. c) improper storage or handling of The Roof Store products.
3. Ice Damming
4. Shading or variations in the color of The Roof Store products or discoloration or contamination caused by fungus, mold, lichen, algae, or other contaminants, including that caused by organic materials on the roof.
5. Labor costs, except as specifically provided for above, disposal costs, tear-off costs, and costs related to underlayments (unless the claim involves a manufacturing defect in The Roof Store Synthetic Underlayment), metal work, flashings, and vents.
6. Damage to the interior or exterior of the building, including, but not limited to, mold growth.

Other Limitations Concerning Coverage:

Decisions as to the extent of repair, re-cover, or cleaning required, and the reasonable cost of such work, will be made solely by The Roof Store. The Roof Store reserves the right to arrange directly for The Roof Store products to be repaired, re-covered, or cleaned instead of reimbursing the owner for such work. The remedy under this warranty is available only for that portion of The Roof Store products actually exhibiting manufacturing defects at the time your claim is settled. Any replacement The Roof Store products will be warranted only for the remainder of the original warranty period. The Roof Store reserves the right to discontinue or modify its shingles and accessories, including the colors available, so any replacement The Roof Store products may not be an exact match for The Roof Store products on the warranty owner's roof. Even if The Roof Store does not modify a color, replacement The Roof Store products may not match the original The Roof Store products due to normal weathering, manufacturing variations, or other factors. In the event that The Roof Store is unable to provide replacement products, The Roof Store reserves the right to provide the cash value of those replacement products.
