The Roof Store Starter Shingles are used as the first layer immediately above the Synthetic Underlayment along the edge of the Eaves and Rakes. Each shingle creates two starter strips by tearing them down the middle when you fold them in half (long ways). Install Gable (Rake) Starter Shingle first. Overlap the Starter Shingle of the Eave over the Gable starter so there isn't any interruption of tar adhesion. Starter Shingle overhangs over the Drip Edge by 1/4 inch for proper spacing. Fasten every 6 inches, preferably with Ring Shank Nails.
